Snowman Shutter Card

I saw this "shutter" design on SCS several weeks ago and everyone seemed to love making them so I started one at that time. Well, it has taken me that long to finish this!!! I was so tired of seeing the base of it sitting on my desk that I decided yesterday that I would make a point to try and finish it. Wow! It was a challenge for me! Maybe my selection of papers just didn't work for it. Even though they co-ordinated, they just didn't give me any great embellishing opportunities. I don't know...but it is done...and I'm glad it is over!!! I must say I enjoyed making my 3D Halloween card that I posted several days ago MUCH BETTER!!! It came together in a heartbeat! This did not! ANYWAYS... the papers are by My Mind's Eye and Bazzill. The ribbons are designed to go with the paper too! The snowflakes are punches and Silouette diecuts. I used my circle punch to make the snowman. I tried to match him (HER) to the snowman paper! I cut out additional xmas trees from the DP and popped them up on the DP. I added a few snowball bling here and there! So that is it! Have a great day!

A Bouquet of flowers

It was really hard doing my weekly cleaning today! I have so many new goodies I wanted to play with but knew I had to get some chores done before I started. Boy was that hard to do!!! But, I FINALLY managed to get a little bit of time in my craft room and this is one of the cards I made. It is a bouquet of flowers using Flower Soft! I have had the Flower Soft since this summer and have done a few cards with it but I found these new papers to go with it so thought I would try them. The square lacey paper is by Flower Soft. I also got a package of the tee tiny silver trim that is around the edges of the square. The silver metallic paper really sets the design off in real life. The lacy paper holder that the flowers are inside of is also by Flower Soft. They have lots of new stuff out now! My sentiment is a little crooked and that's another reason I'm not a big fan of clear stamps. I tried hard to get it straight too!!! You don't have that problem with red rubber. But EVERYONE seems to be going to clear stamps now so sometimes you just don't have a choice. Oh, the sentiment is by CTMH. Come back tomorrow for more goodies!!!

Origami Christmas Tree

I'm back into the Christmas cards! This is actually one I made a few weeks ago and it never got posted. It's pretty simple to make and the directions can be found here on Gina's blog. It's a great 3D card! The DP is some I had in my scrap folder. The tree is mounted on 2 Nesties of SU papers. I thought about using this for my Christmas cards this year but may go even simpler than this!
Have a wonderful weekend!

BirdHouse and Card

This is a birdhouse I made from a template from Papertrey Ink. The card is one I made several posts ago so you can go back and look for more info on that if you like. The birdhouse was printed on DP paper and then cut out. The papers are by Debbie Mum. The greenery and bird are cut with my Silhouette. The shingles on the roof are distressed with various Ranger Distress Inks and then cut with a scalloped edge punch by Fiscars. I punched a hole in the top of the roof for a ribbon. I will probably put Potpourri inside the house. This was pretty easy to make. Have a great weekend! See you tomorrow!

Stairstep Halloween card

I think you have probably figured out that I love making Halloween cards! They are just so much fun and I love to send them to all my "little" friends and even some big ones too! This is called a stairstep card and the directions can be found here. This is made with some diecuts, stamped images that I cut out, and some purchased items in Halloween packages. I've had them for several years so this was a perfect way to use some of them up. The papers are by Debbie Mum. It makes a nice tabletop decoration which is what I may use this for. Have a great day!

Mini Halloween Cards

This is a set of miniature Halloween cards I made to put inside one of those clear boxes. These were fun to make. The stamps are $1 Michael's stamps from previous years. The ghost is actually cut from one of the Debbie Mum papers and mounted. These will probably be put in a gift set with a few other items for a drawing in my Avon business. Hope you have a great day.

MOJO101 Happy Halloween

We finally have AC again as of 15 minutes ago!!! YES! The week is getting better already!
Here is my card for MOJO MONDAY. It's a Paper Studio stamp and colored with Copics. The edges are distressed with Ranger inks. The sentiment stamp is Stampendous. The DP's are Debbie Mum. It's a pretty easy card when you have a sketch to follow! Have a great day!

Happy Haunting!

Well, today didn't start out much better than yesterday. I had the AC man here yesterday and he thought he fixed the AC so it would work until the new parts came in. Well, he didn't. I went to bed last night and it was 85 hot degrees in my bedroom. I might add...it was a LONG night and Muffy and I were not happy. Hubby always seems to be on trips when things like this happen so he misses out on all the fun! So, I'm playing the waiting game again and praying this part will work but I have my doubts. It could be a LONG week!
SO...on to better things!!! I made another Halloween card and it was made using the new SU papers. I got a whole collection of 6 x 6 sheets of all the new papers so that was fun. The stamp is a $1 Michael's stamp from last year or maybe a few years ago. The sentiment is from an Inkadinkado big boxed set from Costco last year. Pretty simple card and pretty cute too! Hope your week is better than mine!!!

MOJOJANETTE

Well, my AC is out today and that's not good in Arizona!!! Our pool filter went out last week and we are waiting on parts for that so it's going to be an expensive week for home repairs. At least my upstairs AC is still working and that's where my craft room is so guess I'll be crafting today!
I wanted to do another MojoMonday sketch since there was a week full of them in honor of their 100th sketch. This is the one I chose here. I have had this stamp for almost a year and decided it was time for it to see some ink. It's always good to have a few baby cards on hand for special requests so this should make a new Mom happy. The stamp is an older stamp that I purchased "used" while in NM last year. I can not read the name on the side of the stamp - even with my glasses on so I don't know the manufacturer. It's not one I recognize, anyways! I used a few of my NEW Copic markers and I got a little more shading with them. I'm still new at this so it will take awhile to get the swing of it since I'm not an artist!!! The round stamp is by SU. The floral edging is a Martha Stewart punch that I have put little tiny pearls on. There are also tinier pearls on the front of the dress so be sure to enlarge this to see them. It took me FOREVER to get them there and I lost a few in the process! The papers are some I purchased in a Valentine's package assortment. The bow was made using my Boweasy. Hope your day starts out better than mine and you have a nice cool house!!! I may be knocking on your door soon!!!

Haunted Houses

Here are 2 cards I made for special orders. They are very simple. The haunted house is made with my Silhouette. I backed it with yellow for the windows. The DP is by Debbie Mum (Joann's). The ribbons are Halloween ribbons I purchased last year at Michael's. Have a wonderful weekend!

Halloween cards

Here are a few Halloween cards I am making for my daughter's coworker. The papers are by Debbie Mum and are just too cute! The ghost is a Sizzix die cut with 2 different sizes. The brads are Halloween brads I bought last year. These are very simple cards and really cute. More tomorrow! Have a boo-tiful day!

Baby Dress Card

Is this not the cutest baby card you have ever seen? I sent a bunch of my cards to work with my daughter yesterday and she sold a bunch of them and got special orders for several more. This is one of the special requests and I just had the most fun making it - even though it must have taken me several hours to do. That's ok though...I enjoyed every minute of it! I found the template on the SCS site but had to make so many changes to it to get it to work for me so I really can't give you a template for it. I'm in the process of working on getting my Silhouette to cut it but can only get it to make a much smaller card which is not what I want. My hubby and I spent a few hours this morning trying to get it to work but couldn't so if you are an expert with the Silhouette...please email me if you can help out!!! Anyways...the base of the card is white cardstock and then is covered with the pink SU paper at certain spots. The white is a Swiss Dots embossing folder. It took 2 swipes to get it all covered so that was tough. I just went back with my embossing tool and punched out any dots that were flattened by running part of it through the folder twice. It worked! The ribbon is some beautiful silk ribbon from Sharon Johnson. The buttons are probably 15 years old or older from my sewing days! And the lace is also from my sewing stash! Yes, I made all of my daughter's clothes up until she was about 10 years old. She was the best dressed girl in town and often got sent to the principal's office to show off her pretty dresses! No joke!!! This dress reminds me so much of some of the dresses I made for her when she was a baby! My baby is now 6 feet tall!!! Have a great day and I'll try not to ramble as much tomorrow!

Thinking of you

I don't know what I was thinking yesterday when I thought I might have a bunch of time to stamp today! My how things change in 24 hours!!! My dog (Muffy) is almost 14 and she definitely has her bad nights and last night was one of them. I don't think she gave me more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Sometimes I think she has her days and nights mixed up because she does so well during the day but when night rolls around...she is so restless and biting herself to pieces. Oh well...she is a sweetheart even in her old age.
This is a card using a Sugar Nellie stamp that is one of my favorites. I'm really trying hard to master my Copic markers and I think I'm slowly getting there. I think part of my problem is that I don't have enough markers to do what I want to do. I only have about 140 and who would have thought that would not be enough colors! Well, it's not! So...I ordered about 20 more to fill in some of the holes. ANYWAYS... the papers are by SU and Joann's (I don't have any other info on that). I used shapeablilites and nesties and a few punches to complet this card. The center of the flower is a button from my stash - I think it's from one of those "dress it up" packages from Michael's from ages ago! Hope you have a wonderful day!

MOJOMARIA Happy Birthday

This is a challenge for Mojo Monday celebration week. It is Tuesday's challenge found here. I needed to make a fall birthday card so this worked out great. The stamp is a Delta stamp. The image is colored with Copics. The brown background is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The DP papers are by Debbie Mum and the others are SU. Hope you have a sunny day!

Wild about you!

I couldn't wait any longer to use this new SU zoo paper! It really is cute! The stamps are by Paper Salon. The DP's are by SU as well as the other bright colors. The rectangle is a new Spellbinder Nestability. The fence is a Martha Stewart punch. The giraffe could probably step right over the fence but I just couldn't resist using it! He's a good fellow so he will behave! Have a great day!

Halloween Book

This is a fun HALLOWEEN BOOK I made last year. I hunted up all my pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes over the many years. (they are 22 and 25 years old now!!!) All of the papers were from the Debbie Mum holiday pad from last year. She has another wonderful one out this year that is very similar to the papers I used. Anyways, there are lots of striped prints that I cut apart to make borders and pockets - too cool! I used my Bind-it-all to put the book together. My husband was in the military for 20 years so we had Halloween all over the world - hence the title page. I made almost all of their costumes - not the Batman PJ's! I put the name of the town on each page since we moved 17 times in 20 years and were seldom the same place for more than a few years. These are just a few of the many pages since I really didn't want to bore you with pictures of my kids! I must say it was one of the funnest projects I have done. I really enjoy doing themed mini-scrapbooks.
Have a great day!

Set of Floral Cards

Today I used the new "in colors" from SU and made a set of cards. These were quick and easy to do and that is always nice! The floral stamps are all Dee Gruenig stamps and were colored with Marvy markers to give the watercolor effect. The sentiment stamps are by SU and CTMH. The ribbons are also by SU. I used my Nestabilities to cut the images. Hope you have a bright sunshiny day!

Tommy Bahama Jeans Card

It's raining today in Phoenix and that makes a great day for crafting! It's not so hot in my craft room today so that is so nice! I need to get started with my September birthday cards so this is the first. It is for my brother who loves Tommy Bahama clothes. So, I thought he might like this. I copied a Tommy Bahama shirt from the internet and cut it up to make a handkerchief for the pocket of these jeans. I wadded it up first to make it look a bit worn and then put it in the pocket. The belt is made with some leather paper. The rivets are by Home Pro. The stamp is a favorite for men's cards and is by Judi Kins. I stamped it twice so I could cut out the pocket and belt loops. The ink is perfect for jeans and is Adirondack Earthtones - Denim! Hope you have a cool day!

Verve Stamps Anniversary Challenges

These took a bit of time to do but were lots of fun! The papers are mostly Debbbie Mum papers from a holiday pad. Most of the design centered around the DP's. Let me know if you have any questions! There really isn't much embellishing on them since the papers are so busy.

MOJO99

This card took all day to get done due to a few unplanned events! I got up early to go exercise this morning and went to start my car and it was dead, dead, dead! It's a common occurrence in Phoenix because of the extreme heat. My battery was 2 years old this week so I think I did well. I got a free replacement since it was still under warranty but it took nearly half the day to get it done. Thus...much lost stamping time! This is for MojoMonday and this was the sketch. This really doesn't look like a Christmas card but it is Christmas paper from Basicgrey's Figgy collection. There are actually snowflakes on the blue DP paper. The stamp is by SU. Hope your day starts better than mine did!
