LSC231 Wedding Card

This is a card for the limited supply challenge on SCS. We were only allowed to use punches and diecuts as our focal point and one stamp for the sentiment. I cut out the lacy circle with my Silhouette and then backed it with a scalloped circle in the satin paper. The background is a Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment is by SU and is embossed in silver. The satin paper is also used for the matting . The decorative pearl is a brad from a wedding collection of brads and is so elegant. Have a great weekend!

Mary Engelbreit Post It Holder

This is a for a challenge on SCS where we had to use office supplies. I had the Mary Engelbreit post-it note pads and thought I would find a way to use them. I took a 4 inch chipboard coaster and covered it with the Red SU paper. The cherry border is also SU. I then put the post-its on and then the flowers and rhinestone stickies. The clip was also added with matching ribbons. Quick and easy. I think I will give this to my daughter to take to work and see if she can find a place to put it. I made lots of black desk acessories for her last xmas so this will look nice with all of it. Plus, it's cute! Oh...the post-its came from the $1 bin at Michael's a long time ago. There were 3 in a pack. Have a wonderful weekend!

Best Wishes silhouette card

Well, I made another card using my Silhouette cutter today. The white frame was cut using it. The stamped image is by Hero Arts and was colored with Marvy markers and embellished with pearls. The sentiment is by Denami Designs. The DP is DCWV Posies Print. It has glittery flowers on it too! The edging at the bottom is a punch. I finally got my watermark on my card but you will have to hunt for it to see it! It's on the tag. Have a great day!

My first card wtih my Silhouette

I got a Silhouette SD for my birthday and have been playing with it for a few days and have been having such a great time figuring out how it works! It's nothing like Photoshop Elements which frustrates me to no end! Anyways, the green background was made on the Sihouette. It is so cool! The sentiment is a Sizzix ornament that I cut up. The flower is a punch out from a $1 bin at Big Lots ages ago. Sorry this photo didn't turn out too well. I am so tired but wanted to get something on my blog before I went to bed. Have a great day!

Cupcake gift set

What a frustrating day it has been! I got Photoshop Elements for my birthday (that may have been a big mistake!) and have spent the past few days trying to figure it out. It's a doozy! I'm about ready to toss my computer out the window! How can they make programs so difficult! Well, I FINALLY made a watermark for my photos but can't seem to use it so that will be another few days! I think I've had enough for awhile!!!
Here is a set of cards I made using some $1 Michael stamps. The DP is all from SU. The sentiments are SU and Pink Cat Studio. The cupcakes are cut out and popped up with dimensionals. Hope your day is not as frustrating as mine!!!

For the Boys DTGD09 Challenge

This is another challenge on SCS found here. I could not get this card to photograph well after many tries. I think the patterned paper is causing some problems with the focus. The stamp is by Stampabilities and colored with Copics. The DP is by 7 gypsies. The solid colors are by Bazzill. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado. This was a simple card to make and looks much nicer in real life. Have a great weekend!

DTGD09 Dare to get Dirty Challenge

This is my first card for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenge on SCS. There are lots of them to check out so hop on over. We were to use black and white and a little red. Love, love, love this color combination! I got this stamp in the $1 bin at Michael's and finally got around to using it. I embossed it in black to give it some added elegance. The DP is by Autumn Leave - the Pretty Poppies collection, Making Memories, Paper Salon and SU. Lots of scraps used! The sentiment is a SU stamp. I think this is all for today! See you tomorrow!

Blooming Flowers Gift Set

I decided to make a gift set today to have on hand for the holidays. This was a very easy set to do and I didn't want to put lots of embellishments on them so that they could use just one stamp to mail. The stamps are by Dee Gruenig and are just colored with Marvy markers and I did use a cutip with some SU ink to add extra color since I didn't have all the right colors in Marvy markers. The sentiments are by SU. I used lots of Nesties and punches. The DP is the "in color" collection from last season. Hope you have a blooming day!

The cutest little purse in the world!!!

Oh my gosh!!! Two posts in one day! How could I resist when I got a very special package in the mail today! My birthday is on Sunday and one of my favorite crafting girlfriends sent me some wonderful gifts. Well, one of them was this Sizzix purse die cut. It is one of those XL ones. It is the cutest purse I think I have ever seen done up with paper! The top of the purse is laced with ribbon across the front and the back and then the ribbons tie on the ends. How cute is that! Then I made a beaded handle since I have drawers and drawers full of beads. I used a very heavy wire so it would stand up. I put eyelets on the top to run the wire through. The flower on the front is a Spellbinders flower layered and attached with a rhinestone. I used velcro to keep the purse closed. I bought a set of magnets and have had absolutely no luck with them sticking to anything. They are even self-adhesive and they don't stick! So, I resorted to my velcro. The papers you have seen time and time again on here...Imaginisce. I just love their papers and the red paper is actually shiny like vinyl! It was perfect for this little purse! I had so much fun making this and know there will be many more to come. I won't post them all like I did the bookmarks and tags though! I actually didn't post all of those!!! Anyways...Thanks Leslie!!! I love it!

More Christmas Tags

Just a couple more Christmas Tags! These are so easy to make and fun! Again, the main stamp is from Justrite Stamps and they are just layered and popped up with dimensionals. The bottom stamp is by Imaginations! All of the paper is by Cosmo Cricket. The tiny paper clip is by Tim Holtz. The flower eyelet on the snowflake tag is from the sewing department by Dritz. I thought they were cute so picked up a package of about 40 of them! These will all be used for my Christmas packages this year. Thanks for stopping by and I'll try to do something different next time!

Christmas Tag

Today was one of those days where I REALLY wanted to get some things done in my craft room and it just didn't happen. I think my phone rang a few times every hour. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. BUT...I did make it here and am happy to say I actually made a Christmas tag. I got a package of paper in the mail today from Canada and was anxious to get started on some Christmas things. This paper is by Cosmo Cricket and it is the Wonderland collection. The tag at the bottom of the BIG tag was one of those punch outs that was included in the pad of paper so I thought I would use it for this. The top of the tag are stamps by Justrite Stamps and they are just layered and popped up with dimensionals. The big grommet is from my sewing stash and I need to find my tools to apply it better! The bottom corners are also embellished with some Home Pro corners. Have a great day!

Bookmark

Today I decided to make bookmarks. I got these plastic covers from my SU lady and I have no idea where she got them from but she was willing to sell me some and I am most grateful to her! There is a glare in the photos from the plastic cover but I wanted you to see how it was all put together so until I learn to use my new Photoshop Elements 7.0...I can live with the glare! I cut a base size for the bookmark from the blue paper. I then used DP to embellish the front. It is all by 7 Gypsies. The 3 medallions are all Spellbinder's Shapeabilities Flower Bouquet. You can not see in the photo but before I took the paper out of the stencil, I colored it with distress ink to give the embellished areas more definition. The other medallions are also by Spellbinders. The stamp is by Stampendous. The edges are done with distress ink. I found the charm at the top of the bookmark on a Clearance rack at Michael's and it goes very well with my medallions. I just tied it to the ribbon.

TLC230 Best Wishes

I was excited to try today's technique challenge on SCS. We were to use fabric for our die cuts. I have always wanted to try this but just never took the time to do it so this was a wonderful opportunity to see how it worked. A suggestion was made to use freezer paper to back the fabric. Well, I don't have any so that option was out. I decided to try it without and I think it was my lucky day because it came out beautifully! I used a Sizzix die cut and white fabric from my stash. I thne got out my background stamps by SU and stamped these directly on the fabric. I used SU inks and they did not run or bleed. I grabbed my trusty 3-in-1 glue and glued the flower on the cardstock. EASY!!! The DP is by Imagninsce and the sentiment stamp is by Denami Designs. The red cardstock is SU. Wishing you a wonderful day!

For You

Wow! I FINALLY came up with a Christmas card for this DP that I bought that I was DETERMINED to use for a holiday card! I don't think it is really holiday paper but I liked the color combination and the medallions could be looked at as snowflakes if you use your imagination! Anyways...for all the time I spent coming up with the design, it's really a pretty simple card to make! The burgundy edging on the left is a punch. The burgundy medallion is a Spellbinders pendant nestie that just came out. The green ornament is a Provo Craft embossing folder and die cut. The ribbon is made with my Bow Easy and the ribbon is from the floral department at Hobby Lobby. The DP is Kaiser Scrapbook paper. The other papers are by SU. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Thinking of you IC189

This card did not photograph well at all. The background blue is not sky blue like it appears. It is more of a light denim color like the flower! They all really do co-ordinate well in real life....just thought I would let you know I haven't completely lost it! This was an Inspiration Challenge over on SCS that can be found here. I chose one of the three options - the plate! I just love that color combination! The stamp I used is by Delta - a Michael's stamp. I stamped it on some cheap Big Lots paper and the ink did not bleed at all when I used my Copic markers! I was impressed!!! The background of the flower was antiqued with Tim Holtz distressing pads. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado. The DP is by Basicgrey - the Boxer collection. The pearls are by Kaisercraft. Again, this really does look much prettier in real life - I promise!!! Enjoy your weekend!

Magnolia Paper Bag Card

This is a card made from a white paper bag. I folded the bag in half and used it like a folder and decorated each side. The DP is from a collection called Eva by Basic Grey. The solid color papers are SU and Bazzill. The stamps are Magnolia stamps and colored with Copic markers. I used Spellbinders Nesties for the front page and used Flower Soft for the flowers in the basket. The sentiment is by Inkadinkado. The lace is from Joann's. The buttons are from Michael's.

The second page is also a Magnolia stamp and she is mounted on a blanket I made using a Martha Stewart punch. The corner punches are by SU. The paper flowers are by Kaisercraft.

The 3rd page is made from the floral nesties . I just layered and popped them up. The bottom is a design punched and stitched with silk ribbon from my sewing days.

The pull out tag is a birthday verse I got off the computer and mounted on paper to make a tag. I added an eyelet for the ribbon.

Have a great weekend!

SC237 Frosty having fun!

Frosty is having a good day today! This is a card I did for the Sketch Challenge today on SCS. I'm slowly doing a few xmas cards and this sketch worked well for Frosty. The stamp is a red rubber only stamp that I have had awhile and I don't know where it came from. That's a problem when they are unmounted and you have tons of stamps! It could be by Judith but I'm really not sure. The papers are from the Figgy collection by Basicgrey. Frosty is colored with Copics and glitter is applied to the snow with a glue pen. Stay cool!

Snoopy Bookmark

This Snoopy actually started out as a card for yesterday but I wasn't happy with it so am using it on something else today! I knew I would find a use for him! I cut a file folder to make the base for the bookmark. I used several of Tim Holtz's Inkredible liquid inks and the applicator to apply the various colors to the bookmark. I first applied a few drops to the felt applicator and rubbed it on the paper. Then I added some Blending solution to the colors on the felt. I then smudged it around on top of what I had just done. It blended the colors together very nicely. I then went and used some Tea Dye Distress Ink around the edges to give it an aged look and also fill in any blank spots. Pretty easy. The photo really does not show up as nicely as it is in real life. The stamp is by Stampabilities and was colored with Copics. I then used a few Distress pads for the background to tie in with the bookmark. The border is a Martha Stewart punch. The top has an eyelet punched for the ribbon. The metal tag is another Tim Holtz goody! Have a great day!

MOJO95 Snoopy Birthday

This is the sketch challenge for MOJO Monday today. It took awhile to come together but I'm happy with the end result. The floral DP is by Scibble Scrabble and the striped DP is by Basic Grey. The others are SU. The stamp is by Stampabilities and the sentiment is by SU. The bottom edges were punched. Have a great day!

Dare to be Fabulous

This is a card for my sister-in-law and is just perfect for her. She is one Wonderful lady! The DP is from the Fashionista Collection by Graphic 45 and I just love it! I really have had a hard time cutting up this collection but finally decided it was time! The red paper is SU. The sentiment is also SU. The button is sewn on the red paper flower and the black ribbon is glued onto the flower. This was a pretty simple card to make once I figured out what I wanted to do with it. I have a book started with this collection but probably won't be able to post it until after xmas. I have lots of vintage photos in it and it is really cool! Have a FABULOUS week!

Spellbinder Wall Hanging

I got out my new Spellbinder Tulip pendant set and some SU papers and made a cute wall hanging for my craft room. My room is a pale lime green color because it is a small room and I wanted it to be bright and cheery! I love it! Anyways...this was made using the Tulip Pendant that just came out and also another flourish by Spellbinder. Everything is mounted on an 8 x 8 chipboard. It was all just cut and glued! I put eyelets in at the top to hang ribbon from. This actually started out as a card but as it got bigger and bigger, it became a wall hanging! I guess I need to start another card for my sister-in-law and hope it turns out to be a card! Have a great day!

LSC228 Flowers for you

Today's challenge went very quickly for me and I'm pleased with the end result! We had to crop an image at least 3 times and could only use brads and eyelets. Once I chose my stamp, I found the papers quickly and knew just what I wanted to do. I stamped the image 3 times and cropped it in colors in the DP. Then I mounted the 3 images on black. There is actually orange in the DP but I guess it is covered up! The DP was from a pad of paper by Amanda Blu. The flowers are popped up with dimensionals. Cute card!

Christmas in July

It was 109 degrees today and I just made a Christmas card!!! Crazy huh! Well, I got a package in the mail today with some new Spellbinders Nestabilities so I just HAD to try them out! I bought this one because it looked like it could be made into a snowflake and I thought it would make a nice Christmas card. Well, yes it made a nice card but it was a TON of work getting all those little holes popped out! I don't think I want to mass produce this idea! These are all Nestabilities and I rubbed a metallic rub-on on the snowflake to make it stand out a bit more. The background is a Swiss Dots embossing folder. The paper is by SU. The bow was made with Bow Easy. Stay cool!
