Birthday Wishes

I'm back for a quick post of a card I started last week.  I've had company all week and now I'm dogsitting my son's dog for the rest of the week.  We'll be getting our new puppy in a few weeks too so I guess this is preparing me for that.  Still working on names.
This card has lots of die cuts and punches.  The dies are by Spellbinder's and Poppy Stamps (the fence on each side of the flower has been cut apart and used on each side) and the punch is by MS.  The papers are by My Mind's Eye and the stamp is Studio 6.  The ribbon is silk and I had the buttons in my stash.
Hope you have a good rest of the week!

I'm back with a Father's Day card.  My father-in-law is a gardener and this stamp is just so perfect for him.  It's a Penny Black stamp.  The flags are Spellbinders and the sentiment is Hero Arts.  The DP is SU.

Just found out my son is finally finished with his pilot training with the Navy and he is heading home for a week. He has not been able to take any leave for a few years so we are grateful he will be able to take a little time off before his first deployment in June.

We are looking forward to the arrival of our new puppy on June 2.  We are still working on names for her.  We are leaning towards Mollie or Emma.  My crafting time will be very limited in the next few months as I get her trained.  I did purchase a puppy playpen for her so she is able to be in my craft room with me.  There is just no way I can let her roam in here with the design of the room.  I "play" in the attic above our garage so the walls are sloped and there are big spaces behind my furniture where she could get lost....and I wouldn't be able to get back there to rescue her!

Have a great weekend!  And Happy Mother's Day!!!

Mother's Day Frame

Today I made a fun frame to give to a dear friend of mine for Mother's Day.  She is always sending me beautiful things so I thought I would do something special for her for Mother's Day.  I have had this frame sitting on my table since well before xmas and decided it was time to doll it up a bit.  The papers are all from My Mind's Eye.  The rest of the things are from my stash.  The flower at the top is made from lace that I rolled up and then added a pearl to the center.  There are a few stamped sentiments that are popped up with dimensionals, a few pearl butterfly stickers, and lots of buttons from my rather large collection!  This really went together rather quickly and was fun to make on a snowy day here in May!!!

Goosebumps

Today I had a little time to try the Texture Spray Resist Technique that was mentioned on the SCS homepage.  I purchased the Goosebumps Texture Spray.  I followed the directions on SCS and this is my card!  It's a simple resist technique like most of the others.  I used a few colors of distress ink and was done.
Today is my hubby's birthday but he is on a trip so we will have his Coconut Cake when he gets home.  My daughter and hubby will be coming down for the weekend too.  We are going to go to the Black Forest craft show and also the Chef's Warehouse sale this weekend.  Maybe we can slip a Sky Sox game in too!  Hope you have a fun weekend!

Sending happy thoughts

Wow...it's been awhile since I have been in my craft room.  And I thought I was going to spend the whole weekend in here!  What was I thinking!!!  Time is flying by me!  Here is a card I made using a Memory Box stamp and die as well as a few Spellbinders dies.  The sentiment is by Stampabilities.  The papers are Basic Grey.
I found a great product that I wanted to tell you about!  It's called  Glue Gloss.  It comes in a tube/bottle like lip gloss and the applicator is just like lip gloss.  It works SO WELL on these intricate die cuts.  And if you over glue it...the excess does not show up as SHINE!!!  It disappears like magic!!!  If you have experienced that before you will know exactly what I am talking about!   Sometimes it looks like you are back in kindergarten with your glueing but not so with this stuff!  I love it!  I got it at my LSS so I couldn't tell you where to find it online since I haven't shopped for it before.
Hope you have a great week!

Friend Blend

I'm back with a teacup card!  Our neighborhood ladies have monthly coffees where we get together and CHAT CHAT CHAT about anything and everything.  It's a great way to find out what's going on in the neighborhood and meet new people.  So, I hope to try to host one in May before our new puppy arrives.  I know it will be hard during puppy training time so wanted to do it before that day comes.  When I saw the Spellbinders teacup die, I knew it would be coming home with me eventually.  I'm a tea drinker so just love this!  I cut the die twice and layered the DP on top to look more like a porcelain tea cup.  I found these beautiful wired flowers in my stash from ages ago and they worked perfectly.  I added a few pearls to the centers.  The tea bag was made from a mini tag stamp and punch by SU.  I stamped it with a Verve stamp and added the twine.  The ribbon looks really dark here but is much lighter in real life.  I think it is the way the light hit it.
Hope you have a great spring weekend!  It's supposed to be much cooler here so I plan to spend some time in my craft room.  I got lots of new goodies today so am anxious to play with them.  See you...

Mother's Day Card

Today I made a Mother's Day card to share with you.  It used lots of dies and punches.  The dies are by Spellbinders and Memory Box.  The punches are by Martha Stewart.  The inside of the card is a Sizzix embossing folder and the sentiment is by Hero Arts.  The ribbon is silk ribbon by May Arts.  I made the stick pin from my beads stash (yes, another hobby!).  The green rick rack is velvet ribbon from my stash too.
My granddoggy left today to go back home.  We really enjoyed having her here this past week.  I think she loves coming here too!  There are lots and lots of critters to hunt!  Hopefully my other granddoggy and it's Mommy and Daddy will be visiting in the next few weeks too.
I have lots and lots of cards to get done in May so it will be a busy month!  Hope you have a great weekend!
